Collection by Borja Moronta

Borja’s new collection of work encompasses calm and neutral minimalistic objects and compositions, following simple forms in a soft tone palette hoping to alleviate the eye. Each stage of Borja’s process leads to humble ceramic pieces that condense his upbringing on the northern Spanish coast; its colours, textures and pace. Since his studies in architecture, he has been drawn to modern architecture dedicated to showcasing the materials of a structure as well as the simple and minimal lines of the architect’s vision.

“My work is a reflection of the states of mind I experience while working with clay and its physical processes: from the mindfulness of throwing, to the physicality of preparing clay or the natural slow pace behind the steps that clay follows to become a ceramic piece. ”

– Borja Moronta

When creating ceramic pieces, he explains “I try to communicate my heritage, my passion for material, the alchemy behind firings and the connection between purpose and beauty.” Each piece is individually handmade by throwing on the wheel, showing marks of the process with slight unique variations.
