I draw inspiration from the relationship between clothing and jewellery. I am concerned with the qualities of the construction of garments, the intimate feeling of the inside of a cardigan or the diffused back of a piece of embroidery. Fragmented suggestions of garments are combined with elements that are more closely identifiable as pieces of jewellery, such as silhouettes of traditional shapes, like beads. In the pieces of jewellery this relationship between garment and jewellery becomes fused, with muddled boundaries.

The main focus of my most recent body of work lies within the exploration of material qualities and combinations, as in the group of ‘crocheted’ jewellery where I mimic the language of crocheting in metal and then extend the metal forms with actual crocheting using colourful yarns.
