'This also rings true for Yvonna Demczynska, founder of Flow Gallery in London’s Notting Hill. Flow opened in 1999 selling accessible works with an upper limit of £7,500 by the likes of Akiko Hirai, Derek Wilson and Maria Kristofersson. They are united by a pared-down, handcrafted look someway between the Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetic. “People want to see the artist’s mark,” says Demczynska. “There is a return to the simplicity of vessels close in style to Lucie Rie.”
