Frances Wadsworth-Jones' Labour of Love collection turns the traditional pearl
necklace and the heart symbol upside down. The process of destroying pearls by
meticulously slicing them in half in order to then super glue them back together
again as hearts is poetic. The commitment to the destruction and reconstruction
of the perfect pearl is labour-intensive and an act of accomplished
craftsmanship. Labour of Love is a collection comprised of time and effort as
well as pearls and gold. The repeated heart symbol takes the traditional pearl
necklace out of context and turns it into something playful. It pokes fun at
tradition, transforming classic pearls into something strange and marvellous.

Prices range from £75 -£300.
