A thirst for
technical innovation and a passionate sensitivity for colour are the
motivating force of Margo Selby’s work. In creating her textiles,
the aim is to push the sensuality of fabric to its extreme. Her
individual and energetic approach to weaving exaggerates tactile
qualities alongside striking colour.
The close relationships she is forming with mills allow her to
combine industrial machinery with a hands on craft approach. She
exploits the latest technology the industry offers in her fabrics,
products and also one-off exclusive art/design pieces and projects.
Enthusiastic about collaborating with designers from other fields,
Margo challenges the traditional ways in which woven fabric is used.
Her fabrics have proven to be an exciting inspirational starting
point for designers across a range of industries including couture
fashion, architecture, interiors, and lighting. |
