Edward Teasdale

I originally made small one-off boxes from solid hardwood off-cuts and found materials but in a desire to make more fundamentally useful objects, with grater sculptural presence, moved to fabricating large box-benches out of second-hand timber. I'm particularly drawn to the box or lidded chest form as it encapsulates those primary utilitarian and aesthetic qualities I'm interested in. Environmental issues were a guiding influence on working methods and design from the beginning and continue to be my main source of inspiration.
