Up-cycling the old china

Decorate, customise, up-cycle new and old crockery with the artist Rosa Nguyen. Bring back to life second hand and hidden old bits of crockery. All ware you can’t bare or care for anymore can be transformed into small works of art.

In this workshop Rosa Nguyen will introduce various ceramic surface decorating processes including, on glaze painting, stencilling and applying vintage transfer decal prints which we will use to create designs. You will then collage and hand paint images on your second hand glazed ceramic ware.

All pieces will be fired and available to pick up from flow gallery the following week.

Materials: Please bring with you…. pieces of plain and or decorated ceramic/china ware, cups, saucers, plates (maximum dimension 12’’). Different size watercolour brush(es) and scissors. There will be a selection of plain and second hand cups and saucers provided. Any extra pieces brought in by participants can be swapped among the group.
