TEXTILE WORKSHOP

The aim 0f this workshop is to encourage you to work directly with fabric to compose an image. Cutting shapes, placing, and re arranging before sewing the different elements down with simple hand stitching. A free way of designing that is exciting down to the very last stitch. Janet will bring extra fabrics which you can use to extend your own collection.

Requirements list: General sewing kit (needles pins scissors etc) Approx half metre plain fabric, calico or curtain lining. For overall backing Coloured threads, sewing machine reels, cotton or polyester. Fabrics - as wide a range as possible of bits and pieces. Any buttons, beads, bits and pieces broken necklaces etc. Simple imagery for personal inspiration. Janet will bring a selection of fabric pieces with which to extend your palette
