Iva Polachova

British Ceramic Artist

"THERE IS SO MUCH POTENTIAL IN A HUMBLE LUMP OF CLAY. THE INTERPLAY WITH CLAY CAN BE A RELATIONSHIP THAT GROWS DEEPER & MORE INTUITIVE AS WE INVEST MORE OF OURSELVES IN IT."

Iva Polachova is a London-based ceramic artist using a limited palette of clay and white glaze. Her subtle surfaces have marks of the tools from the making process as a reminder of the hand. The creative process and rhythm of making are crucial to Iva’s work. Iva draws inspiration from the ideas of Brancusi on the essentials in art and Paul Klee's thoughts on the artist distilling from nature. She seeks clarity, simplicity, balance and tactility in her work.
