MY TAPESTRIES TELL STORIES OF HUMAN MOMENTS. THROUGH SYMBOLISM, I CREATE PICTURES OF THE SMALL THINGS - THE ATMOSPHERES IN OUR LIFE. THEY FORM A METAPHOR FOR SOMETHING GREATER. I DEPICT EMOTIONS POETICALLY & INDIVIDUALLY.

I consider how a human being can find their place in the world, their fears, wants and dreams. My tapestries are a series of scenes, which I feel can show the different sides of life. All my tapestries are sketched in a similar format, beginning with a pencil drawing on paper. I then set it to the back of the warp and weave through the drawing, following the pencil marks. My techniques are not traditional for tapestry weaving. They are impressionism in tapestry, moving freely and quickly. I use a vertical loom and fasten the weft with a classic fork. I don’t hide the warp but allow the surfaces to become lively, revealing the fabric structure.
