Gato Mikio
Wood Turners from Japan
Gato Mikio are a fourth-generation family woodworking house founded in 1908 by Komakichi Gato. Rooted in the tradition of Yamanaka lacquerware, their pieces combine refined form with a respect for material and origin.
Gato Mikio’s philosophy—“go back to the source”—is a return to the ideals at the heart of their craft. Each vessel reflects this intention: simple, beautifully made, and grounded in a history of thoughtful making.
