Oliver Cook
British Artist
Oliver Cook works in alabaster to create minimal vessels, baskets and sculptures. His technique and process are self-taught, developing organically over time, employing traditional carving techniques and skills learned through woodwork and ceramics. Drawn to the quiet luminosity of the material, Cook explores the interplay between light and stone.
In 2024, Cook was awarded a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) scholarship, enabling him to study with master craftsmen in Italy, Spain and the UK. As part of this training, he is also expanding his practice to include bronze casting.
