Japanese Woven Stones

Shizu Designs is a team of two: mother and daughter Shizu Okino and Karen Okino Butzbach. Together, they use traditional Japanese Ikebana basket-weaving techniques to wrap stones in ornamental knots. 

“The stones are individually selected for shape, color and pattern and the knots are selected to complement the size and shape of the stone.”
