Working with foraged clays, stones, fossils and glacial debris from Minnesota, Mitch uses natural materials as a means of exploring the geological and climatic events that have shaped the landscape. 

Working across vessel, sculpture and installation, Iburg’s work brings together geological research and a contemporary approach to ceramics, allowing the intrinsic qualities of each material to guide the making process.
