Hand-built by Tamotsu Suzuki in his rural Japanese studio, this vessel combines a classic, elegant form with a softly textured surface. Slowly coiled from dark clay, it retains the subtle impressions of his fingertips beneath a pale layer of kohiki slip. The matte, weathered finish reveals glimpses of the clay beneath, giving the surface depth and character and reflecting his sensitivity to the natural qualities of clay.
