For the dark porcelain pieces, oxides are added to stain the clay body. The vessels are then thrown on the wheel. Using the same clay, thin porcelain twigs are hand-formed and gently attached to the rims of the vessels. The pieces are then fired without a glaze to reveal the soft porcelain surface.
