Elaine Sheppard Bolt
British Ceramicist
Elaine Sheppard Bolt is a ceramic artist creating works steeped in the context of her surroundings in the chalk and flint hills of East Sussex. Her work includes sculptural installations, hand-built mixed media wall pieces and porcelain thrown vessels.
Elaine produces white and oxide-stained porcelain vessels in a muted colour palette. Her objects are hand thrown and left unglazed to reveal the smooth porcelain surfaces. Porcelain twigs balance delicately on the rims of some of the vessels, or simple porcelain or copper handles finish the pieces.
