A sculptural vessel hand-built by Akiko Takahashi in her studio in Japan. Made from dark clay and finished with layers of pale, matte slip and glaze, the vessel has a softly weathered exterior. By applying and rubbing back successive layers, Akiko creates surfaces that recall aged stone. Slowly coiled by hand, this form is shaped and opened to reveal its interior, giving the piece its distinctive sculptural quality.

All prices are VAT-inclusive. International customers will receive a VAT refund, which frequently balances out the shipping cost.
For orders to the US we use the relevant HS code for original works of art (9703.00), which exempts these sculptures from import duties and tariffs under US customs regulations.
