After graduating from Staatliche Zeichenakademie Hanau as a goldsmith, Ulrike Ramin started her jewellery making journey in various goldsmith studios in Germany, Spain, Iceland and Denmark. Today she is living and working in Copenhagen, designing her jewellery. Ulrike Ramin works with small series and unique pieces. Ulrike carefully chooses her materials. The durability, quality and origin of materials are essential aspects of her work. Her critical suppliers are members of the organization Responsible Jewellery Council, which has created standards to define responsible ethical, human rights, social, and environmental practice.

“All my work is hand-built, showing the traces of my fingers. I am in awe of plants with delicate and tough forms. I feel them at our fingertips, soaking in our thoughts in the soil. I reconstruct plants that quietly stand as if they had grown naturally on the spot." Tamotsu Suzuki is based in Yamanashi in the southwest of Tokyo on the island of Honshu. Since Tamotsu studied at Tokyo University of the Arts, his work is reminiscent of organic plant forms. A flower that blooms quietly, the strong roots of the plant and buds that seem to reach out to connect life. Inspired by plants that live powerfully in nature, Tamostu continues to express using the ground, which is the foundation of these plants, as a material. Tamotsu works with red clay finished with a Japanese “kohiki” style slip.

A mesmerising new collection of pieces by Disa Allsopp at the gallery is a warm embrace to her Barbados childhood and the Ancient Past. Gold Citrines, Garnets and Tourmalines flow from her London Studio mingling with a fascination for talismans found In the tombs of Tutankhamen.

a Showcase by Potter Tim Lake Tim Lake curates opportunities within his firings to allow variation and serendipitous possibilities to happen in the kiln. Tim introduces rogue elements such as raw, unrefined local materials into his clay bodies and places specific pots in particular areas of the kiln to take advantage of the flame path. These determined areas and use of materials embrace the brunt and force of the flames as they flow throughout the kiln during firing. The pieces emerge from the kiln marked with the individual story of each firing.Tim’s showcase at Flow is a tactile experience alongside a visual one. As you handle his objects, you gain more information with your eyes closed. In turn, this expands in the use of his objects. You can run your hands over his surfaces to find a satisfying texture or imperfection that momentarily captures your attention.— View the Showcase "I MAKE POTS. All of Tim's work is stoneware, thrown and turned on a slow kick wheel and fired between 1280°C–1310°C in a self-built kiln fuelled with gas and wood. ‘ In-Between’ is an exhibition by Swedish Ceramicist Kina Björklund. The exhibition showcases ceramic objects that are“between table-top and art, castle and hut, the natural and the man-made, the beautiful and the ugly, the fragile and the coarse ... just in-between.” Historical references abound in the work of Kina; decoration found in 18th-century ceramics, old lace, antique brooches, and old ironmongery (her sister is an antique dealer). Kina uses these" tools" to stamp her plates and bowls. They provide intricate patterns. She uses terracotta clay and semi-transparent glazes, like icing on a cake. “My work always starts at the wheel. I then model, alter and cut patterns. While working, I don’toverthink . I follow my senses, my intuition and make space for chance, which leads me forward. Since I was little, I have loved antique shops, always looking for something that evokes my interest, something different that makes me happy. Just like the feeling in the story of Snow White. The diamonds in the dwarf’s mine. That’s what I aim for in my work. I never get there, but sometimes I am on my way. The glittering stones against the grey walls, a longing to strive too. Beautiful, but not too beautiful, something a little ‘in-between’. I follow my restless and somewhat free temperament. Which in my work turns into an organic movement. a showcase of renowned Metal Artist Simon ten Hompel Hompel sees metal as her first language, strongly believing that a true understanding of any craft must come through the experience of making. Over an illustrious career, she has earned a reputation as one of the most inventive silversmiths of her generation. “I think of metal as my first language and then, I speak English and German … I see it as a voice. It is a negotiation between hand, heart, head, and material.” Simone ten Hompel has been working with metal for over 45 years. Both artists capture a stillness through a refined palette and materials. They are led by their making process, allowing the repetition of core techniques to embody their intuition. The refinement of their processes showcases an exhibition that captures atranquil and welcoming stillness to the gallery. Artist,Hayley McCrirrick , creates compositions that are rooted in the materials she uses. Hayley layers colours and strips back two or three shades to create a feeling of depth. The depth and grounded quality found in Hayley’s work can be seen in her study of Dansaekhwa paintings, which are often referred to as “meditative”. CeramicistJaeJun Lee specialises in porcelain. He finds calmness in the line of a simple form and subtlety of a glazed surface. Details and textures are apparent in contemplating his work.

Our joyous celebration of flowers by French artist Cécile Daladier. We are showcasing a collection of Cecile’s ceramic Pique-Fleurs, that are inspired by Robert Schumann’s poetic ensemble ‘Einsame Blumen’. Schuman’s subtle and poetic music vocabulary resonates with Cecile’s relationship to flowers, clay and nature. Quick View 'Pique-fleurs en couronnes', Large, by Cécile Daladier Quick View 'Pique-fleurs en couronnes', II, by Cécile Daladier Cécile Daladier’s hand-formed vessels are wood-fired in her home-made kiln and smoked with fallen leaves, herbs and dried grasses gathered from her garden. Multiple openings and punctured holes characterize her vessel forms, called pique-fleurs, an ancient French tradition. The creation and arrangement of these holes explore her desire to give each flower its own space and to offer a new way of looking at the natural world. Cecile believes her vases are only complete by the placing of the picked flowers. “I like to gather various small bouquets from the garden and bring them inside. These collections are like memories of and witnesses to the outside world. With these pickings, I create vases that allow people to make small, indoor gardens in their homes.” Cecile’s artistic practice focuses on the rhythm in nature, plants and water. The interaction between humans and the landscape. By shifting focus to the individual flower, its placement and composition. She creates her vessels in re-sponse to the nature around her. Each collection echos the change in season. “Ceramics is a medium that brings together water, earth and plants on a very small scale—a few flowers, a little water, in a little enamelled earth, can move us.”

The 'Crin' baskets a collaboration between Chilean designer Isabel Lecaros and Maestra Madre de Rari, a collective of 16 craftswomen from a village in the Maule Region of southern Chile. The project came about in 2017 when Isabel met some of the women in Santiago, where they were selling small, colourful decorative objects made from crin (horsehair). Lecaros was interested in how they used this traditional style of weaving and, after being invited to the village to meet with the other artisans, he suggested working with them to explore the possibilities of this craft. Black Crin Basket Naturally Dyed Crin Baskets Cream Crin Baskets from Through conversations with the artisans, Isabel discovered a rich history of weaving from the region. She learned how before using horsehair, women from the Region worked with fibres taken from the roots of the willow and poplar trees found on river banks. This material was less malleable and was traditionally used to make baskets. With the increase of agricultural production in the region, water contamination led to a dramatic reduction in material availability. And in turn, leading the artisans to switch to horsehair. Using Crin as a fibre offered greater flexibility, which allowed for a greater variety of shapes. In this project, Isabel and the artisans took inspiration from the pre-horsehair baskets while innovating in size ('crin' is typically used to make miniatures). Isabel was keen to experiment with using the material in its natural state, with only a few accents of colour in selected pieces. Artisans also explored new design possibilities by combining black, brown and white horsehair in the same basket. The project has had international success, and the baskets have exhibited in design fairs in Milan, Italy.
